The Discovery of the Body:

Goaded by a sense of urgency, divers and police teams searched the canal for the girl’s body. The body was found after several hours of efforts, and it was later sent for postmortem before being handed over for the final rites. A key detail revealed by one of the witnesses, Prakat Singh, a diver, stated that Lalit had convinced his daughter to skip school by promising her a trip to get an Aadhar card. He then gave her some bananas and led her to the canal. As she opened the plastic bag to eat the bananas, Lalit callously pushed her into the canal.

After committing the brutal act, Lalit called home and informed the family that he had thrown his daughter into the canal and was on his way to pick up the other children. The family acted quickly, notifying the police and the school authorities. Lalit was arrested, and the search for the girl’s body began.

Witness Statement:

A witness, who was out for a morning walk, noticed the body of the young girl floating in the canal. He immediately alerted the people at the nearby dera, who then informed the police. The police acted swiftly and reached the scene to recover the body.
