German Woman Raped by Driver in Hyderabad

A driver has been arrested in connection with the rape of a German woman on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The crime occurred at Mamidipally, under the jurisdiction of the Pahadishareef Police Station, after the accused, Abdul Aslam, offered a lift to the victim and her German friend.

Incident Details

According to the police, Abdul Aslam, aged 25, committed the crime after offering a ride to the two German nationals, who were in Hyderabad to explore the city. The incident took place on the evening of March 31, 2025, when the victim and her friend, Maximilian Qiyuanliu, were visiting different places in the city. They had been staying with their Indian friend, Mangalagiri Sharath Chandra Chowdhury, in the Meerpet area of Rangareddy district.

How the Crime Happened

On the fateful evening, the victim and her friend were en route to a nearby vegetable market when a Swift Desire car approached them. The car was occupied by six individuals, including Abdul Aslam, the driver. The group of individuals, which included several minors between the ages of 9 and 16, greeted the foreigners and asked about their destination. Upon learning that the pair was heading to the market, the accused offered to give them a lift. Trusting the driver, the German nationals accepted the offer.

As the car moved towards Chandrayangutta, the group made several stops, including a refueling break, before heading towards Mamidipally. Upon reaching a secluded location, Aslam instructed the others, including the victim’s friend, to exit the vehicle and take photographs. He then drove the victim about 100 meters away from the group and threatened her before raping her inside the vehicle.

Victim’s Escape and Police Action

After the crime, Abdul Aslam returned the victim to the original drop-off point, where she managed to escape. As the car slowed down, the victim jumped out of the moving vehicle and met her German friend. They immediately contacted their Indian friend, Sharath Chandra, who filed a police complaint.

The police registered a case under Section 64(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and began their investigation. Aslam, who had previously worked as a driver in Dubai, was arrested at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. He had rented the car through a long-drive app and had been driving around with his colony mates when he encountered the victims.



Ongoing Investigation

The victim was sent for a medical examination, and the car used in the crime was seized. The police maintain an ongoing investigation of the reported incident. Abdul Aslam was produced before a court and has been remanded to judicial custody.

Authorities have assured the public that justice will be served, and further actions will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
